you bought a used truck... most have some form of issues. if you diy your concern it will cost less the $150 or so to fix.
Bought mine last yr in oct. First weekend had it...tow haul light came on. Wasn't pullin anything. Took back to dealer and after 3 weeks of having it thinking computer issue final result was one bad injector, turbo cleaning, and rebuilt tranny due to bad clutch. BUT haven't had an issue since! I bought with 210k and now at 225k. Keep up on maintenance and runs smooth. Friend that's mechanic noticed trucks been studded. Not meaning I'm gonna hot dog it round town. I love my truck and hope it carries me for many more miles. Its 06 f350 drw lariat cc. But after I got on forum and was like "what I get into" but like everyone says...stay on maintenance and things should be good. Thanks FTE

They're not cheap...just the one you bought because it sounds like it has a couple of problems. The previous owner more than likely knew that, thus lowered the price to unload it quick. If it sounds too good to be true....
I'm one of those guys that has no intention of parting with my 6.0L...it's hard to say you love a truck, but I do treat the truck as well as I treat my wife. Treat 'em right and they'll take care of you.

Theres nothing on that motor that is under a 150 to fix other then fuel filters. hell the air filter cost 80 bucks. Yea i know used trucks have issues but i have a 96 7.3 with just as many miles that is way beter and i have had a bunch of used ones, but they at least give me a month of working before having issues.

if there not cheap then tell me why withina 100 miles i can buy a loaded 6.0 from lariat to king ranch with miles from 80k to 150 for under 20k and find 35 of them on line and thats just f 350 4x4's..
I have a 97 7.3L and it is BY NO MEANS the caliber of truck my 6.0L is.
If you can just refrain from complaining so much, we can help you save money with it. Otherwise (as I said in another thread), just sell it. You buy ONE used (probably abused) 6.0L, and all of a sudden you are bad mouthing ALL of them - lmao!
wouldnt complain so much if i could get helpful answers instead of other kinds of answers.. Havent been rude gave plenty of info on the issue and have gotten one descent reply and the rest have been nothing but b.s. So please tell me then what am i doing wrong.

Really? Gosh, you come here blathering about basing your choice of used vehicle solely on price and now you're upset. Hard to understand.
Personally, I think someone who doesn't know the difference between there and they're isn't smart enough to buy any used vehicle. That's more than conjecture. It's a fact that you have aptly demonstrated.
There's nothing like doing your due diligence after making a purchase. Next time maybe you should take your mother used car shopping. She knows as much about 6.0s as you, but I'll bet she'll say, "Son, maybe you should have a mechanic check that truck before you buy it."
You have already complained about a truck that requires certain filters. Well, it does, that's just the way it is. JUST MAYBE, it is because the aftermarket is making inferior products, just to cheaply get around patents!
As XB70 said, the air filter will EASILY last 70k miles before needing changing, thats 3-4 years - pretty cheap. You can get them for WAY less anyways - at dieselfiltersonline.com (along w/ the fuel and oil filters).
FRAM sells the Racor (OEM filter manufacturer) oil and fuel filters, so get them (or get the motorcraft, or the International, or the Racor)!!! Stay away from Purolator, NAPA, etc - it just isn't worth it.
As far as idling goes - in the other thread you say "what good is a diesel if you can't idle it?". Well, you have a Federally mandated EGR system. I don't think Ford just wanted to install it on their own, so we have to live with it. If you want to idle a lot, get the "high idle" mod, and maybe start planning for an EGR delete kit.
Lots of other tips can help with 6.0L satisfaction.
