After looking at the above seat list I went out to my my local P & P and they were having a manager's special on buckets seats...14 bucks a peice. I pulled a pair out of an 88 aerostart and swapped tracks with my broco's orignal tracks and they fit pefectly. I found a bronco 2 with the flip forward passenger seat and bought that track. Total coast was under 45 bucks...and its made a huge difference.
I find these seats to be much more comfy than the stock seats. I don't find the increased height of these seats to be any problem at all. I feel liek these seats actuially hold me and my neck has a place to rest. I wouls suggest changing your stock seat to one of these(unless of course you can those 90's mustang gt seats..good luck))
Does anyone know if they made flip tracks fot the drivers side seat...I know it will hit the sterring before lifting forward all the way but it would be nice to have acces to the rear area(who wouldn't want that!) from the driver's side .

So what does that mean exactly? Did you just take the seats and track from the Aerostar and slap them on your B2 base?

Exactly...I just took the aerostar seats and put them on the bronbco 2 seat base. If you have to buy a lift seat base from the "junkyard" you shouldn't even have to touch the passenger seat(except for removing it from your truck of course).
In fact I have my original passenger seat sitttingh int he garage with the base and all..I never even touched it.
The longest part of the project was drivnig to and searching the junkyard...it seems they have a ton of aerostars out there. I'll try and post some pics of the swap(hopefully by next week.) emailme if you have any questions, Good luck
Sounds like I have a new project for myself! What kind of seats are in Aerostars? Are they high-back buckets? Do they have armrests? Yeah, it would be good to see your pics. Thanks!
If you can find seats but they are not the color that you want, as long as they are the same style seats, you can peel the cover off your old seats (assuming they are still good) and then place them on the new seats. This process is a bit of a pain in the **** but if your stock seats are eddie bauer and you want to keep the EB logo etc. then it is well worth it. I purchased seats out of an Aeorstar van and peeled and em, the only problem was that the arm rest did not match but easily fixed by either removing the rest or have your wife, make a cover for the arm rest that matches in color
Thats a good idea about just poulling your covers off your original seats and putting themn on the new aerostar seats if the seat structures are the same...
...but alot of the bronco 2's came with the lower seat backs while the aerostars most aerostars have the taller seat with the hole near the top of the head rest. My The back rest are of my seat is at least 3-4 inches taller now. I'm sure they'll be much more comfy when I have to sleep in them.
My 84 had drivers bucket that flipped up from the back like passenger seat, my neighbor had an 84 also and theirs did not do this. Must be all in how it was ordered.
Confronted with the same problem i used the "recaro " style seats from an 85 BMW 3 series.
Super ride but due to the lift (3'') i ruined the left lateral suport of the driver seat.
Any solution expt . Aerostar?
My seats are showing their age at 260K. I can feel the frame and springs through the foam in both the seat base and the back. For those of you who have raided the Aerostars and done the peel/replace cover routine, does the foam look to be easily detachable from the frame?
If so, I'll go find an Aerostar passenger seat, take the foam out, and put it in the bottom of my driver seat.

If you peel the foam you can simply stick it back on with a spray adhesive that can be obtained at your local fabric or craft store.
