Well let me start by saying that I just had to replace my front pads on my '04 250 after replacing them only 12000 miles ago. Last year I decided to replace all four corners with EBC Green Stuff pads and EBC slotted rotors, thinking that I would get better stopping power since I pull a 10,000 lbs. trailer frequently. (to the tune of almost $700) Well this past weekend I heard a horrible grinding noise coming from the front of my truck and thought oh great my bearing are going out. Well I pulled the wheels off and look everything over and find that the inside pads on both sides have worn all the way through the pad material and into the steel backing. But the outside pads still looked new. Now when I did the brake job last year I made sure the slides where greased, used new hardware and the caliper pistons moved freely. So what gives? I don't know what I could do to make this situation any better. For now I just threw on a set of $30 pads to get by (which actually gave me more "pedal" than the expensive EBC ones). I guess it was an expensive lesson learned.......the stock pads and rotors lasted 60,000 miles.
