I'm replacing radius arm bushings on a 94 Exploder (stock) with polys. Is the torque different from the rubber OEMs and should you retorque them after a while? after a break in period?
What I do is mark where the nut was (# of threads) before I removed the castle nut. Then squish the bushing down until the castle nut is back to where it was and then slip in the cotter pin.
I do it this way, instead of using torque, because I want the front in alignment/square more than I worry about the torque on the bushing. The 150 pd on my truck (f-100) surely was not meant for the poly bushing which can not squish up like the rubber bushing.
Well if you didn't mark em.... Am I hearing that if the front end pulls left or right and not tracking when driving ...... you should and can tweak it.... with a little 1/4 turn here or a little 1/4 there? without going nuts you front end is out?
