Get the codes read with a good "scanner" not a 'reader' and find out what it is.
Don't buy unless you know what your getting.
There's an old saying that sometimes even if it's free it's not a deal.
The PCM controls the shifting by opening and closeing solenoids on the valve body changing the fluid paths.
They are monitored full time and set code if they don't conform to program control.
Alway a possibility a spring is broken or a valve is stuck.
