cab mounts

What am I looking at to replace cab mounts on my '64? Are they even doable without lifting the cab off the frame? Any tips/info greatly appreciated.

I have not done this myself but I did see a vendor or two who offer cab mounts that fit over top of the bad mounts. I have no personal experience with them so I can't vouch for how good they would be. It may be worth a look see. Some one here may have an opinion on their use.

You can do it partner, just look under there, get under there and figure it out. Probably'l need a floor jack after you loosen\remove bolt. Be safe under there, chock wheels disconnect, battery , etc. Let us know where you buy parts

That I know of you have to lift the cab. Lots of fun there!

might be easier with the cab off but did mine with the cab on because i didn't want to take everything apart and never get it back together. just put a jack under each pillar and move the cab up where it should be (assumeing your cab has dropped). there are build threads here and on slick60's showing the process if you want to take a look. if it were me i'd cut out and replace rather than weld over or hopefully it just needs patched. post some pictures of what you've got maybe someone has been there done that.

I just replace the cab mounts on my 64. I used a floor jack and a 2x6 cut to fit under the step well on both sides. You have to remove the gas tank to get to the rear cab bolts. I removed my old mounts with the aid of a air chisel to cut the spot welds. I made my own replacement mounts. Check on the Slick 60s web site and you well blue prints on making your own. After they are in you must drill and plug weld to the floor boards. New bolts and rubber bushing and you are good to go.

I replaced the front cab mounts on my '66 F100 by leaving the rear mounts bolted in place. I removed the complete front clip before starting this project. I used repro mounts from Dennis Carpenter and am very pleased with them. You just need some patience when clamping the can mounts into position before welding.

Good Luck!
