I noticed on my '05 Ex that I can press on the accelerator pedal, causing it to move 1/4-1/2 inch (that's a guess, maybe a bit more) before the engine responds. Is this normal? (The engine is smooth, no flat spots or mis, thru the pedal range). If not, what's the fix?
Well, that kind of depends. We need more info before anyone can respond with an educated answer.
What kind of engine do you have? Gas or diesel?
Do you have any mods on the vehicle? Custom tunes?
Do you have adjustable pedals?
FYI, if you put your rigs info in your sig (see mine for an example) we wouldn't have to ask if it's a 4x4 or 4x2, if it's a 6.0L PSD or a gasser (6.8 or 5.4), or if it has any mods, etc.
I have an '05 PSD 2wd adjustable pedals and I have a similar behavior.
The first bit of go pedal travel (1/4 inch maybe) seems to have no effect.
When I drive my wife's Explorer, she asks why I "mash" the pedal
taking off from a light.
