dyed fuel

I have a f350 7.3 and was told by my friend that I can run the dyed red fuel in my truck, i'ts about 50 cents cheaper a gallon. I was looking for more information ??

Red dyed diesel is for off road use only. Its not taxed which is why its so much cheaper. and i think it has a higher sulfur content. If DOT caught you using it on the street truck you would get a big fine and what not but it wont hurt your truck

thanks, my friend uses an in bed fuel tank and then transfers at his home

Doesn't matter where he transfers it. If your friend is running off road diesel in an on road truck, he could get a big fine if he ever gets caught. I thought shops were even supposed to report if they found dyed fuel in a truck...not saying they all do but something to think about. It doesn't take much dyed fuel to "contaminate" non-dyed fuel. I know it's cheaper but is it worth the risk?
