Dyed Diesel. Will it hurt?

Just wondering if running hi sulfur dyed off-road diesel will have any negative effect on my 2000 super-duty?

It is likey the truck would run significantly better on high sulfer fuel, but like da' man said, you don't want to get caught with it in the tank.

will it run better on high sulfur fuel? Why? thought that the sulfur combined with the water formed during the combustion process to make sulfuric acid. Which is though on any thing.

A friend of mine uses his 97 PSD to drive a pumping station now since the truck is a mangled mess and it runs just fine. Also if the truck is strickly and off road vehicle. Not licensed for road use, many logging companies and big constructions companies do not lisence vehciles and tow them around on trailers then you can get away with it but only on the job sight or private property never on a public road.

If the dyed diesel fuel is used OFF ROAD, they are not doing anything wrong. The taxes are for highway use, ie what interstate commercial vehicles have to report every mile run in every state, regardless whether the truck is loaded or empty, and there is no personal use exemption. Farmers run their equipment ON ROAD to go from field to field etc., and they can use DYED DIESEL legally. It is illegal to use in Your PSD for highway use, period. I have used it on road in My aux fuel tank, but I should not, because it is plumbed into My fuel system. My PSD sure runs great on DYED DIESEL, it must be the price!!

Dyed Diesel. Will it hurt?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Oct-02 AT 11:18 PM (EST)]Hi this is new to me but I saw your question about high sulfer diesel. I just got my powerstroke back from the ford dealer. They charged me $664 to replace the low pressure fuel pump and to tell me that I need all new injectors due to high sulfer then used diesel fuel conditioner. It all happened about a week later. Also my catalytic converter was clogged solid. Do later powerstrokes have a cat I keep reading of turbo back systems but see no cat in them?

I used to work for a coal mining company. We got busted using off-road fuel in trucks that were originally meant for the road. If that makes sense. We faught the fine and lost. The verdict was that if the vehicle was originally meant for on-road-driving, no matter wether it is titled or tagged it must fun on-road fuel. I am not saying its right, but we paid dearly for it.
