After lots of headaches and a couple years, I have finally driven my truck...though not much. It hasn't passed inspection yet, so I can't really be driving it a whole lot on the roads. I think the only things I need to do to get it to pass inspection are put windows in it (I took them all out to be replaced and have given up on installing the front and rear, though I do intend to do the sides myself), put on a new wiper blade, run a vacuum line for the wiper, and put the mirrors on. I have included a few pics of it as it sits right now.
Here she sits. I'm going to run through the tires on here before buying new wheels and tires.
The engine is waiting to get some exercise. I told it to be patient. It'll be doing plenty of sprints before long.
The steering column and gauges.
I love the gauges!
The B&M floor shifter. I still need to tuck the wiring up under the dash.
Ron, the tags on mine said 76 when I got it, so I would guess it was the last time mine ran. I got it in 2001 and it sat for 7 years before I even started on it. So it's had plenty of rest.
Jim, I started with the rear glass and got so irritated that I didn't even want to attempt the front glass. I talked to a guy that owns a shop down the road from where I work. He is going to put it in tomorrow (pending no rain). I know I probably shouldn't, but I'm going to drive it down there with no windshield (wearing safety goggles of course).
