ANOTHER PROBLEM

Ok so I was driving yesterday and my engine light came on and started running like crap. Checked codes and it said injector pressure lower/higher than desired. Can't remember code # it would also shut off every time I stopped. Pulled filter and it was black.

Sounds like it's time for a new fuel filter. Might as well clean the Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) screen while you're at it and test the fuel pressure at the schrader valve. Should be 40 - 80 PSI at idle.

Do a search for "FPR Shim" to get yourself started. Ask questions. We're here to help.

Welcome to the site.

Huh? Are you talking about something at the bottom of the fuel bowl? Or something came loose and has settled to the bottom?

There is a fuel heater at the bottom.

The only wires I can think of would be for the fuel heater or the "Water in Fuel" sensor.

One of the gurus around here will correct me if I'm wrong.

Had another thought, too, about your filter being black. Are you having an algae problem with this rig? Are you getting fuel from a reputable source?

Get fuel from the same place every time and never had a problem. I changed filter once and it wasn't black

Does this place have a high turn-over rate for their diesel pumps? If they got a bad shipment and the fuel sat in the tanks for awhile, they may have the algae problem and passed it on to you when you filled up.

Any chance you take a picture and post it to this thread?

You'll need to upload the photo to your "Garage" or "Gallery" on the FTE site or to another photo storage account like "Photobucket" or something similar.

Once it's there and available, you can view the photo, select (copy) the image [IMG] code and paste that code into the thread.

If you don't have enough posts to have permission to do that, you can send the photo to me and I'll try to post it in the thread for you.

Email: IDMooseManatIdahoTurboDieselsdotcom if you want me to try. Let me know if you do, I'm not viewing my email at the moment.
