A couple of months ago my truck popped the Check Engine light, and Steve83 gave me a web site that I said what all the trouble codes said. Well, I lost the site name, and now my truck popped more codes, so I need it again.
Thanks Paul
P.S. Here are the codes that came up. Key on, engine off- 522--173--179. Also did a key on, engine on and pulled--538 (I think).
One other thing that I forgot to mention is that the truck has been felling a really slugish lately. The best way that I can describe it is... like when you run a fuel tank dry and it starts to get really doggy and begins to chug but doesn't die, then you flip to the other tank of fuel and the truck gets power back. Its almost identical felling. I replaced the dist. cap, rotor, plugs and wires about a month ago (with all the best quality parts that the parts house had, $70 worth with my discount) and it ran great until just Monday when the light popped once and staied on for about 15 sec, then yesturday (Thursday) is popped again and also stied on for about 15 sec. A couple months ago when the light popped on, the problem was the intake air temp sensor. So any thoughs on what it is this time would be great!
173- Right HEGO indicates rich
179- Adapitve fuel lean limit reached at part throttle, right side rich
The other two are nothing to worry about
522- Said that the tranny was in gear when doing to test
538- RPM's weren't high enough during the engine on test
So what does this mean?? Last time when the Intake Air Temp sensor went bad, I had the code 173 and 179 also, plus one more (I don't remember what number that was). See what you can come up with... Thanks for your help
this is just a wild guess, but maybe the actual filter on your pump, i think they call it a strainer is clogged on the bottom so when your tank gets lowit only draws from the clogged part and u aren't getting as much fuel so your computer makes the truck run rich so it draws more gas, like i said just a guess but it kinda makes sense
