i did a engine swap for my in laws in their 04 expedition this is the 4.6 v8. i had some help taking it out i don't remember taking this wire off and neither does my help. does anyone recognize this wire and any idea where it goes

Hate to tell you but that looks like the knock sensor. Hopefully the new engine has it installed, look for a connector at the rear of the left cylinder head.
ok i looked up a knock sensor on rock autos website it does look like that. i am assuming that the brass side should connect to the drivers side cylinder head? thanks again for your help
