Mine did something similar when I bought it, I believe I had to update the pro-link connector. If you look under the help tab there is a couple of link to get the latest updates.
Tried the update, but mine was up to date, I think there might be something else wrong too. I got the following message and it should have had a number listed in section b.
Check to see if the connector ID is the same as on the box lid.
Yup, the enhanced bundle activation number was on a blue sheet of paper. But when I did I had the same message that was in the second picture saying it was not connected. I followed the directions on the paper and it didn't say to have the connector plugged in. On the blue sheet it even said ignore the not connected messages.
The only thing that the connector has on it is a sticker that says 55845-P the top of the box has a sticker that says Ford Enhanced Bundle with 55845 written on it. The box lid doesn't have the "-P" like the sticker on the connector???
I uninstalled AE and when I reinstalled it the same thing happened. When I reinstalled it the enhanced package was already unlocked so it must have left some files on the computer some where.

Not sure what to do.
Well that sux.... sounds like it's time to contact AE. Of course it's a holiday weekend.
Do you have power at the OBDII port? Blown fuse for the cig lighter/power port is my guess.
Try connecting to any other late model car you have available. As long as it has OBDII it should connect.
I had the same problem you are having and went and complained to AE and even shipped the cable back to them. They found nothing wrong and shipped it back. I tried it again and it didn't work. I then called AE and they told me to try another car. It worked fine. I then replaced the blown fuse in my truck and it worked great.
It was a humbling experience.

Good call, that could very well be his problem. Same fuse as the cigarette lighter, I believe.... is the lighter working?
