Heat Problem

HELP!!! I have a 1998 Ranger. I am having a problem with the temperature control for everything except for max/ac. It doesn't matter where I set the temperature control, everything blows HOT! Even when the dial is set all the way to cold, I get nothing but HOT air. On max/ac I can get cool air, but everything else is just HOT!!!. Does anyone know what is wrong with this thing?
