People generally know that Ford didn't use badges like the individual MERCURY letters on the hood on this vintage truck so that would have to go, but the mercury grill emblem would be pretty convincing if done right.
ok now im gonna set out on a quest to the local PAP to find the merc parts just to do this little project Mr Marq LOL you got the gears in my head turning on how to pull this off

Hey now, don't go stealing my thunder.
It'd be cool to see another Merc project. A little more bright work is in order, and an upgraded interior (or at least altered in someway)...since all Mercury vehicles are just rebadged Fords with a little more flash.
Only hang up I see is the M-150 emblems. Merc had nothing comparable to swipe emblems off of, so they'd have to be custom jobs that look legit.
indeed but you may be able to pull off a merc exploder base I think they had some badges and letters that were individual
The rear gate badge that says Mountaineer has the letter M, and just remove the F from the F150, and put them together. Yeah, that might work. A bit of that 5 or 6" tall flat chrome stuff along the lower side of the truck might work too, if it goes with the other brightwork trim.
Take the side badges to a vinyl graphics shop, and have them replicate with the "M" rather than "F".
That was what I planned to do, if I ever go thru with the rotary swap in my 95 B2300. I'd just have custom B1300 emblems made, as the 13B rotary is only 1.3L....
I'll have to go junkyard hoppin' to check out Merc tailgates now...thanks y'all for the little tip.

A vinyl graphics shop eh? I guess I'll be digging through the phone books to see what we got around these parts.
I had been playing in Photoshop more...trying to create a design for a badge that would look authentic enough to be believable, without exactly copying the F150 emblem...if I make it simple enough, my brother may be able to mill me a set out of aluminum at the shop, then it's up to me to paint.
The standard F150 badge...
My M150 badge...following in Mercury's tradition of using GS/LS trim levels.
Originally, it was a solid rectangle with radius corners; but an outside opinion said it looked too much like a plaque and not enough like a fender badge, so it was notched some to break up the monotony. As a throwback to historic Mercury, the 'M' is made dominate in recognition of the old "Big M" slogan.
I'll probably play with it some more and do one where the M150 is all the same size...
