Hi to all,
Happy fourth, ok so during the winter I noticed that my seats don't seem to get very warm. No where close to my 2001 with old school heater pads built in but I live in CA so not that big of a deal. So the other day it is finally summer here and I go for the a/c and on max for the seat you can sort of feel something going on. It's not like other cars I have used where each hole is a little cool spot, if it's not on high you feel nothing at all.
So my question is, how effective are yours? Does the dash blower have to be maxed for the seat blower to be effective? If mine are correct it seems like a giant waste of time on Fords part.
Thanks in advance, my bride has MS so keeping her cool is a priority, I was all puffed up the other day to show her how nice it works and she said " when are you going to turn it on "

my heated seats will bake your buns when set on high...my A/C seats will make them very cold....sounds like you need to see your dealer. Heres a link to a recent thread about how happy a guy is with his truck...nice comment about the a/c seats:
I love the auto climate on this damn truck. As i pulled up to the dock yesterday after fishing with the family, I hit the auto start. By the time I got to the truck, nice and cool. The seats are great. You must see the dealer. Maybe a clogged filter or a weak fan.
I am experiencing the same things as the original poster. I thought it was because I have a set of seat covers on them but even without them, they do not get very cold.
Anyone know how these seats work? Where do they get their cooling from (the truck's AC through a duct)?
Mine get really cold if on setting 3 also, I usually only set it 1, same for the heat also. I have noticed about a minute delay in really feeling the cold/heat though. I love them!

Each seat is equipped with a TED (thermo-electric device) in the seat cushon and back rest and a blower motor. Depending on the voltage polarity applied to the TED(s) gives you either cooling or heating. In cool mode you can expect a temperature difference of UPTO 14° F (8° C) from ambient...
When cooling my seats get very cold. When the heating is on they get very warm. I would recommend you get your dealer to diagnose and fix them (assuming you are still under warranty).
Powerstroke, would it be hard to switch over to AC seats? Find a wrecked truck and do a swap?
I do not know the answer to your question. I am surprised that no one else has a attempted to answer your question either. I would assume that it could be done and would also assume it would be a task.....
