I'm going from Wellington, CO to Centralia, WA 1250 miles each way to bring back my 55 Ford PU project I left there when I moved. Should be a fun trip as well.
Wow...8mpg around town. I don't think I could deal with that. I average 14 around town and 19 on the highway. All hand calculated. Then again, my diesel engine cost more up front, costs more each fill up, and costs more to maintain.

My Excursion is and has always been for "pleasure use" only. I think I have driven it 10,000 miles in the last 4 or 5 years. Currently it is sitting under a carport and not even being used, I have taken my Ford conversion van out of hibernation and have been driving it this summer. But, gas prices and mileage per gallon aren't really an issue with the Excursion, even when it's not hibernating. Plus, I have a new company car and free gas at my disposal for work.

I'm just outside of Chehalis. If you'd prefer, I could 'hold onto it' for you...
Best I have ever gotten in city driving is 8.2 to 8.3 mpg.
i know i'm aware of your MPGs lol
winter time it can be as low as 7mpg. i hope for 9-9.5 anything else is just a huge plus! big thing is everyone's area is different. my "city" driving is 45-55mph stop light to stop light.
Road trip doing 5 or 10 mph over speed limit smashing throttle to floor when necessary to pass ac going non stop first hundred miles at least had one decent mountain and pretty hilly I am impressed.
