I'm about to buy a 2008 f250 with a 6.4l diesel. But I havnt heard that many good things about the engine. The truck only has 46000 miles on it. It runs fine now and it shows 13 miles to a gallon but I'm still not sure. Any help or suggestions?
I've driven it and sounds good. I have already looked at the radiator but I didn't know exactly what I was lookin for. and the frame rail? Has far as hours go, I was told it was a daily driver for one of those people that get a new truck every 50k miles.
It sounds pretty good, follow Steves lead here. With 46K, you are still under warranty for the big stuff. Fuel mileage is not a strong point and city driving economy is horrible. Pullng with this machine is a dream. As stated, 13-14 average city and 16-17 hiway, overall average is usually around 15 and pulling 11k 5er I get 9-10 mpg. That is pulling at 65 and no faster and not getting on it from a dead stop. I was always raised that Diesel engines are not HOT RODS but are work machines not speed machines. Sounds like you may be on to a good used machine. Reseach it and then research it again and you will be ok.
32000. It's a lariat 4x4 crew cab. Clean truck nothing wrong with it as far as looks go. And it drives good.
That seems reasonable, I'm selling mine with 50K on it w/ spartan dpf delete for 29K. Super cab short box 4x4. But I'm not really in your neighborhood.
