I am cleaning and replacingparts on my dana 60 KP axle.New bearings,kp,rotors calipers brakes, ete.I purchased new locking hubs, ujoints 35 spline outer axle. Can and should i skip on the inner axles. Farm truck flat bed dump wood hauler, stone hauler, coal hauler, not needed for pushing sno.I have a 69 2000 series tractor. So what do you think? thankyou dave
I left mine as well and No issues so far. I run chromoly 35 spline Nitro outers with Warn premiums. You should be fine as I wheeled mine hard. If an inner is to break I heard its the short side one as the long side is more forgiving with the twist over longer length. Something to think about.
Sounds like its gonna be a good beef setup
O one suggestion I should make is if its all still apart you may wanna consider a tie rod over flip. Take the knuckes get the tie rod holes drilled , then press in a new sleeve and have it reamed from the top side to accept tie rod. You gain a good 3"s on tie rod being higher out ouf harms way. Agood machine shop would have the reamer and they can make the sleeve on a lathe out of some good tool steel or w/e they suggest. Might cost ya $100. The reamer alone would be $125 ish
Edit:
O there is one issue with the tie rod to modify but just pm for details if you do consider it..
