timing chain or gears?
I'm going to have the water pump replaced on my 88 Bronco 4.9l inline 6 with 125k miles. Does it have a timing chain or gears? I'm getting several different answers, and the dealership told me it had gears. Another place told me not to worry about the timing, which has never been checked. I'm the original owner, and I'm new to all this. Thanks so much.

Just because I'm curious, does the 300 have just two gears? So the cam would actually spin opposite the crank? Just curious really. Boss's heavy-half Chebby Van has a 250 set up like that.
