"Freedom's natal day is here.
Fire the guns and shout for freedom,
See the flag above unfurled!
Hail the stars and stripes forever,
Dearest flag in all the world!"
Justin...the Massachusetts and New Hamster Chapters are going to have a joint GTG at the WWII museum in Wolfeboro in a few weeks. Check out the thread that will be opened soon. I thought it might be close enough to attract some of you Mainers!!!
Oh yeah... don't want to hit it on a summer holiday tho....seems you could walk across the lake on all the boats! They do have some pretty cool scenic boat tours, too!
There are a few lakes around the we want to take the boat to, that is one of them, Lake Champlain in Vermont, and Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia!
Lake Champlain is beautiful, never personally had my boat out there tho, was in VT for 4 years for school, that area was one of the parts of VT I like more.
I spend most of my "boat time" on Long Lake and/or Lake Sebago in Maine, 99% of the time I launch in Bridgton because it's close to home and both the 2 lakes are connected, so I can go to 5 different towns by being on the 2 lakes or between! (Sebago is HUGE!) It's also cool because there are a few stores w/ docks that you can pull up to gor gas/food/beer/ice and whatnot.
I have heard they are trying to close the locks between the 2 tho, because of milfoil. I really hope they don't, its a lot of fun to go across the river/locks going from one to the other.
