July Chat and BS Thread

Thursday begins my weekend. This is the day I get my truck ready and loaded to head to the flea markets to sell on Fri Sat and Sun. That's the hardest part is loading up then setting up on Thurs night then bring what's left back and put it back in storage Sunday night. But...I average $500-$600 a weekend. All profit except fuel and food which really helps keep the bills caught up.

Prosperity dip at the old RV Center in Beckley on Fri and Sat. If I don't stay there for Sunday, I move to the parking area on Harper Hill (route 3 to Eccles). I've wanted to go to other places but most are a long drive and only one day. If I stay local, I can leave my tables at night because it's fenced in. That way, i can keep an eye on things and bring in more things if i need to. A lot of the things I sell are leftover yard sales from Fridays or the weekend before. I check the local paper and can usually get a whole truck load, sometimes two loads for $25-$50. Quite often I can get free things like appliances and furniture that just needs a little repairing.
My wife thinks I should do it full time instead of going back to work especially since she really doesn't like my job at all. But...I like a steady paycheck. With selling and odd-jobs, it's feast or famine when you start out. It gets better over time of course when you build up a reputation and contacts but I can't take that risk right now.
But until my job lets me come back to work, I have to do whatever it takes. Teenage daughters are expensive lol.
