I'm getting ready to do a 4x4 conversion on my '95 F350.
I will be using a Dana 60 front axle with a 3" RSK
What are the best springs to use and how hard is it to find them for sale? I don't want to spend a bunch of money on springs.
I've heard the some Superduty leaf springs ride better (I don't care about ride much), but they are longer. What do you have to do to install them? Which Superduty's can I get them from? And how much are they usually?
My other option is stock springs from an OBS. I have a set on my '87 F350 I'm parting out that would work. Would it be better to just stick with stock?
I'd just get stock OBS F350 front springs. The SD springs require moving the front of the RSK mount forward and cutting the bumper, and it looks hacked IMO.

IIRC, you gotta move the rear mounts as well. But I'm not 100% on that. Thats what it sounded like neal was telling me.
Most just shim out their front bumper to make room for the RSK.
but its the V-Code springs outa the SD's.
Usually about 300 I think.
I'm with chase, just grab some 350 springs and take it easy.
I have a set of front springs off my 97 f350 with an add a leaf in them, but I am in washington state...just throwing that out there
Just re read and saw your in oregon, I'm in northern washington about 1 1/2 north of seattle.. the springs are just takin up space, if you want them I'm sure we can reach a fair deal...?

Reason: added info
I'm just trying to decide if it's worth taking the front axle out of my '87 just to keep the springs from it.
It's a F350, appears to still be the F350 springs, but has a Dana 50 axle in the front.

I agree that it is not the best design once you move to SD springs. The project with Precision Metal fab for a different kit is moving foward!
In your case I would use the staock F-350 springs if you have/can get them. The SD springs are longer and require you to move the front bracket forward, cut the bumper bracket and relocate and most likely have to cut the bumper as well. You can't shim the bumper enough and look decent.
I just did the SD springs and RSK and if I were you I would just use old body style springs. Way easier for sure. SD springs do not make it ride all that great, it is still a truck.
So now the question is to fab up a stock style shackle mount, or do the 3" RSK?
I'm using stock 4" lift blocks in the rear and a Dana 60 front... I just don't want a "Cali Lean" with the front higher than the rear. Will the 3" RSK raise the front too much?
