Ok guys, just bit the bullit and ordered the turbo! How happy will I be? I can't wait to get her on and going. Don't think I have ever heard one on a truck how do they sound compared to stock turbo with ww? Also what kind of boost will I be seeing, just asking cause my boost gauge only goes up to 35psi. Any ideas what a stock 250 turbo with ww and fresh rebuild goes for now days.?

Where did you order your 38R from? I saw that Riffraff has them on sale for $1299 right now with a 4th of July coupon code from their flyer. As far as your stock turbo, Ebay is so flooded with them at $550 or so that $300-$400 should sell it pretty fast.

Should be close to what you were seeing with the stock turbo.

I was only seeing 26 or so with the stock turbo. I thought I would see over 30 with the 38 r. I can't wait to see how much lower the egt's are gonna be.......

Doubtful.

A drop-in turbo isn't going to make that big of a difference. You'll likely notice slightly faster spool times (even with the 1.0 A/R turbine housing if you got that) than the stocker, but due to the more efficient airflow out of the engine (lower drive pressure) you will notice less boost under normal driving conditions and likely identical numbers under load. Oh, and the lower EGT will only happen under load. Cruising you should see the same (and in some cases just a few degrees higher).

Whistles louder, spools faster. I get about 34# of boost out of mine. Egts are around 700* cruising at 65mph. Can reach 1500* on WOT runs in 140 agg with the DP.
