i have the tag from my carb off of my 302. i cant seem to find any info on what model it is. the tag reads
e5te
ya
b 4g 24
what would be the way to hook this carb up without all the smog stuff on the motor. the motor was supposivly from a 1980 f150 but its goin into a 1979 f150. it has some electronics on it that i dont have the stuff to hook them up. so what could i remove and whatnot? im also taking the egr valve riser from under the carb. thanks.
E5 tells you it's at least a 85 model. I'd just pickup another carb without all the bells and whistles. Ford 2V carbs are one of the easiest carbs to find and rebuild.
E5TE TELLS ME THE CARB IS A 1985 . For starters I would cap off any unneeded vaccum ports on the carb and run power to your choke . You should be good to go. Was the carb on the motor when you got it ? If it worked with the motor in the prior truck it will work in the vehicle your putting it into.I know from past threads the general consensus is to ditch the mid 80"s smog carb and get one from the late 60"s or 70"s that is not saddled with the emissions equipment.
thanks guys. the guy who sold me the motor lied then saying it was from an 80 f150. it looks as if the motor was sitting outside for along time. yeah the carb came on the motor when i got it. im thinking of trying to sell the equipment i have and try to find the stuff i need at the junk yard.
