I have a 1979 F-150 4X4 with the 400 CDI and the C-6 tranny. I like the C-6 but don't love it. I had an 1985 F-350 with the 460 CDI and the T-19. I loved the tranny but didn't much like the body stile. Ok my thought is to find the same tranny as the 86. I can find the tranny from Pro King but I'm a little confused as to the what is the difference of the T19-A, B, C, and D? What's the ratios? I even called them and they didn't have specks outher then what truck it went into. Anyone got a clue?
Dose the ZF 5 speed have the low first? Dose the NP 205 mount up to the ZF? I was thinking of the NV 4500 but then I was told it wasn't really all that tuff. I also was thinking of the Ranger splitter OD unit that would be a very tuff combo with the T 19 or 18. I know I could get an NV 4500 for about the same as the splitter but I could get an T 19 for very little and have a very tuff combo. So many ways I could go I haven't made up my mind. I was also going to do a dubbler on the transfercase using a NP 204 (not sure thats the right one, im a little tired) and my NP 205. What do you think? I'm taking ideas.
Every time someone brags on the NV4500 I post his URL... LOL :) QUAD 4 x4 LLP Your 4x4 Experts
...it's a cryin' shame they did those splines like that, ain't it? :/
Anyway, seems simple enough. :)
Do you want, need or might use overdrive?
If not, get a T-19 again, if so, get a ZF or a modified NV4500.
