In '49 did the bus have two wooden benches, one on either side of the bus, with the aisle down the middle? The Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC has a fully restored school bus with that set up. I don't remember the make and year on it.
What a great progect, if that bus could only talk i bet it would have some tales to tell about the sixties omoung other things. I absolutly love it.please keep up with your progress. Welcome to the site. (JIMMY)
I'd love to find an actual school bus and restore it for my wife's preschool. I'd have a better chance at buying another Panel truck, cutting some windows on the sides, installing a few bench seats and calling it a day.

put a slide for them to unload.Kid would luv it.
Can you buy and donate it? The preschool does have a 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
If you don't, then I'll buy a 50s C***y Suburban instead.
You asked at a bad time going car shoping for both of my girls. after that i don't think i'll be buying any more cars for along time. Not until i sale a truck or two. lol
