So my 74 f250 is a 4x4(8foot bed). I need a side mount fuel tank. Will the ones from LMC truck or Bronco Graveyard fit with that transfer case support bar there? Or is there a tank that will fit in-between the bed side and the frame?
I'll bet the emissions matter in California. Are you trying to get a tank for single fuel door, or 2 fuel doors?
I think single??????? Im installing the rear tank but i want a second one in the side. The hole is already there for it...... But what will fit because i have a 4x4?
So you have a door or should I say opening at the rear of the bed? If so there is no factory style tank for your truck if it is on a stock highboy frame(34 width). If it is 37 your in luck for factory tank. If not your option are Bronco II tank or fuel cell.
Use search function for many, many threads on this subject.
Also there are fuel cell pics in my build thread. Maybe around page 6-10 or so.
its definently gonna make a difference if it a highboy everyone ive owened has had the tank in the cab because the frame is narrower than the others so u need to figure this out but if it is the 37in frame then there is a factory tank that will fit
So do i measure inbetween the fram or from outer edge?
Also, does anyone have a 73, 74, 75 f250 or f150 4x4 with a factory side tank? Im ordering parts in the am and need to know if i can order a side tank from NPD or Bronco Graveyard!
chances are if you have a high boy...w/ a divorced transfer case and most likely 2-1/4" wide rear springs that the frame width is going to be 34" the 150 and 250's are different in more ways than just badges...
side tank?...w/in the frame rail, also referred to as a midship/fwd. tank...I have not tried or researched those options yet, as far as the aft tank, custom build one, order one from an aftermarket co., or use a broncoII tank...I bought a truck for the 55 gals. stainless custom built aft fuel tank, there are saddle tanks that were made, not sure if they are stilll made...
