I have just completed putting a 2 inch skyjacker lift on my 1970 F250 4x4(with a 1974 frame and suspension) and I am wondering what to do with the driveshaft lengths and construction, particularly the front one.
I put the original driveshaft back in the front and it did not appear to affect the length at all(I marked it at rest and it has one inch of travel at the slip yoke in both directions). But I need to have a new one built as this one is very worn, especially at the splines.
Questions:
A-Should I go with a longer travel in the new shaft? (more than one inch in each direction)
B-Should I put a double cardian joint in it to allow for mofe flex?
The original one did not have a double cardian joint.
