NICE SAVE!!! only wish there were more like that truck up here in Canada. most are so rusted that they weigh 800 pounds less than when they were new, or the POs know what you want them for and ask a God awful price for them. I wish your neighbour friend well with his NEW purchase. John

Shouldnt be too hard since it came from a salvage yard......they should be able to issue a certificate of salvage or something like that, and he should be able to work through the state and get some kind of title.......

glad to hear it will be saved. Both of mine was headed there the guy I got the truck off of got it to keep it from being crushed a 74 F250 Crew & I bought it for $1550. The 66 Mustang convertible the guy I got it off of was going to crush it an sell the parts he bought for it bought it for $ 1500. I dont get people crushing these vehicles instead of selling them on ebay & craigslist were you can post them for free. The price of scrap might be up but you can get more selling it whole or parting it out than crushing it. I am parting out a 73 F100 shortbed to keep it out of the crusher.

Kalve,

It's the "hassle factor". A couple of years ago I bought a 1988 Suburban with a 454 TBI engine from southern California. It had very low (original) miles and I intended to salvage what I wanted and part out the rest. It was a huge PITA.

The sheetmetal was in phenomenal condition; zero rust and perfectly straight. I listed it on Craigslist and KSL.com (Salt Lake City website). It was priced very cheap but got few calls offering ridiculous money. I managed to sell the Turbo 400 transmission and the 350 engine that was being replaced. I gave the front clip to a friend. The rest got crushed.

Next time I won't bother to try and sell anything.

Shame to hear the grandkids are giving a big F-U to their dead grandpa. Grandpa spends 30+ years keeping his truck in exceptional shape, and when he kicks the bucket his grandkids treat his hard work like a piece of trash

2X.... I hate it when kids get all "oh his/her house was full of old stuff, so it should go in the trash where it belongs"

Have they never heard of "one mans junk is another mans treasure?"

Stupid **** kids...
