Please help!!!! Building 351 w

I am building a 351w and am trying to figure out what year it is before I start buying parts. The block casting number is D9ae-6015-Ed16 and there is a code above it 1k2. I know it's a 79 model but I would like to know what year specifically for performance parts purposes. Or are cam kit, intake, headers, carb, and timing set intrchangeable for the 79 model engine? I also have another question. I pulled the heads off this engine that I bought used on craigslist and on the top of the pistons say .060... Does this mean that they are 60 over pistons or are those stock?

The .060 would mean a rebuilt engine with oversize pistons. Not a bad thing is it was done right.

Now just what do you want the engine to do that it's not doing now performance wise? What kind of budget? Carb or FI?

I'm thinking I'm gonna run an edelbrock intake, holley 600, cam, and double roller timing set, mallory ignition system (family discount), and the headers are still up in the air because I don't know what will fit since I'm swapping into a 79 f150.

Ya I'm hoping it will. But I'm still looking for information as far as dating the block and what parts work with what year blocks? Are all 70 model blocks the same?

D9 is 69 and all 351w blocks are pretty much the same.

That means they are 60 over pistons and that is the generally accepted limit for boring a stock block so this one is junk if it needs another rebore.
