I blew the hose off directly off the turbo going to the after cooler. I relaced the hose clamp because it was stripped. that lasted about a week and a half. then the hose blew off again last night. I had to use basic hose clamps to get home. Why would i keep blowing the hose off? I going to replace the hose and clamps today. I also noticed that at times when I am accelerating and i let off the gas the turbo makes a garggling sound. Is this normal or is something wrong? Any help would be greatly apprieciated.
When you put hose back on are you cleaning it ? If it has oil on it pipe or inside of hose it needs to be clean. Spray it off with break clean let dry then get wife's hair spray yes hair spray, spray inside of hose and on turbo end tighten clamp and all will be good. This trick will work trust me, have had mine off a lot and never had one blow off.
You'll need a gauge to see boost. It's generally a good idea to have a set of gauges to read a number of things. You can see problems coming before they leave you sitting. There have been a lot of good posts here recently about gauges. A little searching and reading will net you bunches of information.
One of the popular solutions is the Scangauge. It plugs into the OBD-II port and will read just about any sensor that the truck has. It's not very good at reading boost though, in my opinion, because boost is a calculated value and you have to make some assumptions in the calculation. The scangauge also requires some programming to see the values you want to see.
Another option is the Edge Insight CS or CTS. They are quite a bit more expensive, but it's more of a plug and play operation.
