What are you hoping to see exactly? Addco and Hellwig probably have two distinctly different mounting systems---I can speak only for Hellwig which is what I installed several years ago.
You are correct, both Hellwig and Addco having different mounting systems. In the rear of my van where the sway bar would be mounted there is a shortage of real estate. The dual flowmaster system takes a lot of room up near the rear end housing and also the rear spare tire storage system takes up some and the front of the tire sits pretty close to the rear end housing. I have looked at the "hellwig" unit and there just dosn't seem to be roomn near the center housing. The Addco unit looks as it might work for me because everthing is mounted behind and low on the axle except for the arms of the sway bar that go forward and mount under the frame rails with the verticle links. The other reason is I can't seem to find instructions on how the sway bars are mount for the Addco unit. Also Addco makes two different part numbers. a 548# and a 552#, I don't know what the different is in the two. The advertizement pictures I've seen look the same. I have seen pictures of the Hellwig unit attached to these twin-I beam suspension and althought they might work well, I would think "hellwig" engineers would have come up with something better then a piece of flat steel held on to the I-beams with two "u" bolts for a connection point. The Addco unit says they use the OEM connection points. So does that mean they use the bushing in the I-beam for the ends of the sway bar like the OEM sway bar. I can't find any installation instructions on the front Addco units. That why I would like to see oictures of them installed on a E-150
Well I looked at an On-line ford parts ordering catalog and for the year 1997, E-150, E-250 and E-350, the catalog shows both. that would be through the hole in the I-beam and end links. But it doesn't show where the bottom of the end links attach. ( no Bracket attached to the end of the I-beam spindle connection. Anybody got a parts break-down picture?
Anyone able to look at there E-250 sway bar and see if the ends feed into the I-beams or are they attached to end links that are attached to brakets that are attached to the I-beam/spindle connection. According to Ford catalog, I looked at starting in 1997 and into 2004 the sway bars on both the E150 and E-250 feed into holes and bushings in the I-beam. Although they show both connections. My thought here, if the 250's are the same they must be heavier and maybe I can switch one from a 250 into my 150. So if you are willing to look at yours, take a measurement of the diameter too. Mine in 1" maybe yours on a 250 isa 1-1/8" Thanks, Dave
Dude so far you've got four posts running about this one topic---and you seem to not read any of the replies after posing your questions! I addressed this topic of front anti-sway bar mounting and the superior design of the Helllwig---had you read your own thread you'd have already received an answer.
It does no good asking something then not paying attention to info passed along in hopes of helping!
DUDE !!!! You do it your way And I'll do it mine. If you call a 1/4' piece of Steel plate and a couple of you bolts as superior design I would not like to see acceptable by your standards.
