Towing mirror conversion on 2001

I have an 01 xlt f250 with power paddle mirrors. Im installing 2005 power, heated, signal, towing mirrors. My question is, Instead of running all those wires through the door and to the steering column, etc. I want to splice the running light wire to my window control and my signal light wire to my door lock control. Meaning the signal and running lights on the towing mirrors would always be lite while the truck is on. Stupid idea? I would also hook the heat wire to the lock control. Would all these extra power sources being tapped in blow a fuse or make my lights weak because so much power is being used by the battery? Thanks!

The heated mirrors draw something like 1.2 amps.. So that may get close to blowing a fuse, however all the other lights are LEDs, so you shouldn't have an issue with blowing too many fuses because of those.

Also, I would check with your local laws to make sure it is legal to have rear facing amber lights always on. I know it seems stupid, but I have heard of stupider laws..

Other than that I dont see a problem, other than the signal lights are pretty bright, but I guess thats the point.
