1995 f250 issues

Hey all new to the site and have been searching for a while now for my answer just cant find one i understand. Anyways iam having troubles with my 95 f250 witha 351W has the E40D transmission iam about 98% sure cause i cant find the vacuum module they are talking about thats on the C6. Well the problem is my truck has a low idle and for some reason the transmission works in reverse well 1st well but does not really want to go in drive its like drive is stuck in 3rd and if i give it more then normal throttle it will move fluids are fine checked and just replaced lines what would cause this ive checked the linkage its fine N is Neutral P is park and so forth please help truck has been off the road for too long needs to stretch its legs.

Dont know if this has anything to with the above but i had plugged my egr i think it is the sensor on the side of the thottle body that has the tube on it for smog control if its leaking by how would i check this and would it cause idle issues?

My .02

It's a computer tranny(E4OD= electronice 4 spd OD), so no vacuum module on the side. It's controlled by a cable hooked to the throttle body. It uses the cable to determine load and where your foot is at. Is the cable broken? Sometimes the connector on the end(hooks to TB) gets broken and cable falls off. This will make it drive strange. If let alone for long periods it can burn itself up.

The cable you are describing is for an AOD transmissions, not an E4OD. the E4OD is 100% computer controlled, no cables or vacuum modulators. Before going too far with parts, check for codes. The computer may have the answer for you.

A fix that is commonly recommended if codes don't solve your problem, is to replace your tranny fluid and tranny fluid filter. It's common for people to let this go to long... After a while the tranny fluid can break down and get gummy/sticky. Which might cause something in the valve body to sick and keep the tranny from shifting properly.

Just my 0.02cents

rla I would rep you again in this morning for more good information but FTE won't let me...

Dang it, guess I missed that one. Lost my '95 few years ago, figured it was the same as my '89(aod). Been wrong before
