Smile Amp install question

I have an amp that I want to hook up to my factory stereo. I don't think the head unit has RCA hookups. Can someone please walk me through the set up to run speaker wire from the head unit to the amp.

Thanks

Amp install question

u will need a line out converter, and i cant think of the companies off the top of my head but i do know u will need to splice into the rear speaker wires to get the input singal, which will in turn convert it to RCAs. u can also use the amps hi-level input but it doesnt offer the best quality...

come to think of it, i think its stinger that offer a good line converter...

Heres what you can do:
Buy "scotch connectors" from radio shack. These allow you to tap into your speaker leads with out cutting them. Run the wires from the scotch connectors to wherever you would like your amplifier. Then I would purchase a Line converter from Radio shack as well. (This device takes a high voltage speaker level signal and turns it into a line level RCA output for your amplifier.) Connect the wires from the scotch connectors into the convertor, and then into your amplifier. Presto! You now have signal wires to your amplifier.

Yeah, your a pretty koo guy.(and bright too)
Scotch connectors are made of plastic and they have a center metal pin in them. They are oval shaped with a flap on one side. what happens is, you lay the wire you want to tap into right across the metal pin. Then you insert your "to be run" signal wire. You close the flap, and krimp the flap down over the metal pin until they snap into place. They usually cant do much more than like 18awg, but they are handy for jobs like that. Check 'em out next time your at a 'shack or hardware store. They run about $2 for like 8-10 of them.

I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff so bear with me.......do the snap connectors attach to the speaker leads coming out of the back of the head unit or the speaker leads from the speakers to the amp? Also if it is from the back of the head unit, which wires attach to which snap connectors.

Thanks
