Duke, FE engine were standard use from 65 to 76, should be easy to find in any pick & pull. If you are using power steering you want to get from a 73-76. Truck engines were 352, 360, & 390.
Thanks John. I think maybe I should clarify a bit though. I am looking for one of the engine cradles that allows the engine to sit on a stand to be stored on the floor of the shop or to be transported in the bed of a truck w/o falling over.
engine cradle is the only term I've ever used so I apologize for any confusion. I suppose one could call it an engine dolly.

I'll assume John is talking about FE engine use in trucks, they appeared in passenger cars in 1958.
Jason, I have made devices like you describe out of wood 2 Xs. Make a rectangle box with 2X8 or 2X10 sides and the ends 2-3" lower. The engine will fit in the homemade box like it was made for it. Take a couple 2X4s about 2ft. long with wheels under the ends and attach them crosswise under the box and they will roll on the floor or truck bed.
You can make them for trannys too. The wheels will be the most expensive part.
Harvest the wheels and a little scrounging, you can have them for near free.
Pilot you have to be Nancy Pelosi's son, you are sooooooooo funny.

Sorry to disappoint you John ... No relation to that Democrap Pelosi, but at least I pay attention to what is posted in the threads! Oh and John... It is time you come up with something new... That Pelosi Crap is growing old....hmmm kinda like you!
Duke this is what I use instead of a cradle..... 1000 Lb. Engine Stand it is priced well, and it is versatile!
those Harbor Freight engine stands are OK for small blocks, but not what I would use for a FE, they bow down with that much weight. But that is just me

I have used mine with my Drag boat engine.. Blown alcohol 468 Olds, ( around 750 lbs.) and also with my FE without a bit of issue. The Boat engine comes out of the boat after every race weekend, and I have been using the engine stand since 1996. If it isn't flexing then it will be breaking.
