Hey guys a buddy of mine has an '02 and just replaced the upper and lower ball joints and the tie rods, now he is having surging issues.
When he turns the wheel and inch or two the truck acts like he turned it a full turn or two!
His guess is that there is a pressure sensor for the power steering that has gone but he can't find one?
He did the tie rod ends...I wonder if he's towed in real bad, this will really screw up the steering...quick check is to measure the front tires across the truck (driver to passenger), measure the front of the driver & pasenger tire then the back of the tires and compare ( again...not the rear tires) if he has less in the front measurement he needs an alignment..I've noticed the "count the turns" when replacing tie rod ends doesnt always work based on the parts used.
So I`m guessing that there is no such thing as a ``power steering pressure sensor` lol.
I had never heard of one but there is lots that I don`t know so I didn`t question it.
Thanks guys, I`ll let him know and hopefully he is able to solve it!
