blower motor
I have power to the switch and thru it to all posts, onward to the resistor and thru it as well even have power to the black with yellow strip going into the blower box. Is the other equal in size black wire the ground side of the fan motor? I ask these questions cause I have not taken the cover off under the dash to the blower motor but I can probe them with a test light.
Thanks
Could trace power all the way to the a/c box under dash last nite but did not have time to remove the cover until 2nite.
Got the cover off and HOLY DONUTS the connector from orange and black (fan pigtail) to the harness of black and black was melted and distorted. Wiggled a bit and the fan came on but that connector was a hot potato. Cut it out soldered in some new connectors powered her up and she ran cool as a cucumber.
If I would have lost my money pit to a fire.........
Now why do you guys think it did not blow the fuse, I know the cause of the melt down would be loose connections but with kinda current draw shouldn't the fuse have popped?
By the way this was/is the link/question that got no looks and made me do the dirty neighbor trick.
Have you seen how many of US pervs have looked??????
I'm glad you found the loose connection before it went up in flames. A local guy lost a nice Camaro in a garage fire just last week. The newspaper said that the only damage was to all of the windows, and of course the paint. . .
Sick. . .
