I wanted to say thanks to Stevenhf100 for helping me with the wiring on my tach and show a pic of it installed.
im not done cleaning up the wiring yet and havent connected the lights yet but its up and running now.
Ok, so after looking and looking I think I found out where this tach came from.
it looks to be the tach side of a rally pac made for a 66 mustang.
the site I found it on ebay then googled scott drake tach and there it was. Its a aftermarket rally pac.
Rally Pacs were optional on 1965/66 Mustangs, have either a 6 or 8 grand tach and a clock. Mounted on the steering column.
Your tach is not from a Rally Pac, it's too large. The bezel is also wrong, it's chrome, and doesn't come close to matching the bezels used for both the tach and clock...both of which were removable as were the lenses.
I've never seen or heard of an aftermarket Rally Pac. Ford offered several other tachs, either mounted to the steering column or atop the dash.
These were made by Sun and have crossed flags on the dial. Ford also offered Cobra & Shelby tachs. The gazillions of different accessories offered for '60's vehicles in mind boggling.
