4X4 problems HELP!!

I have a 1999 f150 5.4L the 4x4 is not working at all. recently i changed the switch and the 4x4 motor. i was having normal electrical trouble with the 4x4 motor and to solve it i would put some die electric grease in the connector, but recently when i flip the 4x4 switch inside nothing happens. no light on the dash, no clicking sound, no response to anything, ive put another switch in the dash and checked all the fuses related to the 4x4. i was told it might be the actuator ot the 4x4 motor again, is there any trouble shooting for the actuator or the motor. last time the motor went out, i had to bring it to the shop to get it changed. but it cost too much to bring it in. is there any comments or advice on how or what i should try?
