I had to get one for my 63 4x4. I have no clue why it is different, but NumberDummy was able to find me the number of an obsolete supplier who had an original one in stock, so maybe he will chime in. Its a stupid switch and it cost around $70, but it works.
There was a guy selling one on ebay a few months ago. Are you sitting down. $360 for a nos one I didnt follow it because it was to rich for my blood. Im in the same bind need the innards for my 63 horn assembly. I dont know for sure but Im thinking that horn assembly is the same 61-66 in the f250 4x4. The 350s probably use the same one. Not to many in the wrecking yards or on Cl being parted.
Your Ford part number is (or at least it was in 1972) C2TZ13341-D. If ND comes up maybe he can find a source for you. National Parts Depot's current catalog lists it on page 162 for $100. I gather from some of ND's earlier comments that its suitability may be questionable. You could try your local Ford dealer's parts department, who probably won't have it, but if the part number's still good, his computer may tell him of someone who does. Good luck!
I don't know about the 4X4 being different, but I can tell you I bought mine for my switch at my local For Dealership. It cost me $58 I believe. So I would check with them first.
I found this from the post when someone else was looking for a switch.

BFB any idea as to how long ago that post was made. I looked it over and cant see a date on that post. Just wondering if it is even worth a try if the post is over 5 yrs old. Sometime within the last year Id pickup the phone and give it a try. thanks for putting that up.
I dont know if you saw my post above about Evil-Bay. I havent looked there lately. You might give that a try. In the last 6 months Ive obtained 2 pretty good steering wheels for the 61-66 F250 4x4 at pretty reasonable prices. The last innerds I saw for that steering colum were expensive especially if they know how hard it is to find that part.
