pulled the motor from my '88 f-150 recently and had it built by a very reliable mechanic..dropped it back in yesterday and got everything hooked up today..went to crank it..turned it over and hit a couple times but wouldnt crank..i dont think its getting fuel, can you get the two fuel lines backwards? any suggestions would be great.. thanks!
Your post is on the wrong forum. This one is 97 to 03.
You have to do the troubleshooting.
We have no crystal ball to see what the issue is.
At least check for fuel pressure if you think it's a fuel problem.
You also need to clarify exactly what is happening. Either it quit turning over and won't start, or, it's turning over and fired a couple of times then quit trying to start. Two different problems.
If it just quit turning over, first check all the battery cables, especially the ground from the battery to the block. That one is easy to miss when hooking everything back up, might be just loose.
its turning over and fired a couple times but wouldnt start.. turned the distributor today and got it to crank but the smog pump is locked up. what could be causing that? any help would be appreciated
