1951 F1 Fan belt

The fan belt on my 1951 F1 (flathead 6) needs to be replaced. Not sure the existing belt is the right size (measures 3/4 by 42 and 3/4 best I can tell). What size belt fits this engine and where can I get it?

Welcome to the forum!

NAPA and many other stores carry it. Looks like yours is the right one.

My son (15 years old) and his stepdad are doing the work on the truck. They got a fan belt that fits. Thanks to you both for the info. I bought an alternator from Mac's that has the same shape as the generator. Unfortunately, the brackets are not sturdy enough, and one of them bends when you tighten the tension. I have a call into Mac's. In the meantime, we might have to use a piece of angle iron behind part of the bracket so it won't give.

Ease up on the tension, the water pumps don't like a lot of force. As long as it isn't squealing under load, it's enough.
