T86E w/ overdrive
Hi all, so the Block is away at the machine shop and I got tired of body work. Decide it was time to take alook at the trany. Now I am not in any way shape or form a transmission guy but I want to learn. I found that my 53' F100 has a 3 speed T86E trans w/ a Borg Warner R10 overdrive. My truck is also missing a trans mount the whole support bar is just not there, cant even tell where it originally was. I can fab that. Any way can some on inlighten me with any info on this trans/OD combo as the best I can figure its not original.

There was a big thread on this a while ago. It was finally stated that the special crossmemeber was only used on cars.

If there was no crossmember don't add one - It will cause binding and failure.
