Ok well the other day my grandpa was over here and we ran to tha store in the truck to get a drink and i got the dp tore off the truck new ones here wednesday but when i told him i had just the turbo dumping by the firewall he said i was sucking air backwards into the exaust warping the valves when i let out of it well long story short he is only familar with gas and a turbo wouldnt let air go back into the exaust to warp valves would it and also is there any harm if i just put on my new 3.0in dp then no exaust after that shouldnt hurt anything should it thnks
Well, if your turbo outlet is too close to the inlet, you could be intaking air that is too hot and melt pistons or valves, not to mention getting lousy fuel economy. I don't think it's terribly likely, but not impossible. There's a reason people intercool.
Ok i will heres a test to do diesel wont kill or harm you witout long long or tons of just trying to make it harm you the test get 2 identical size garages park a diesel in one with the door closed park a little 4 cylinder gas in the other with the door closed which person dies from poision first the gasser the diesel can run id say 10 hours and the person may have a big headache
And just fyi osha is all the reason diesels are being ruined they think oh gosh black smoke thats gunna kill us not in a million years ive drove to the beach last summer behind my buddys 24valve and he kept lugging it and blowin smoke all in my rolled down windows side affect was i laughed otherwise i am alive and well

You're certainly welcome to do what you want with your own truck, but for me personally, especially if I'm going to be driving my loved ones around, I want as little exposure to CO / SOx / NOx as possible, and the best way to do that is to make sure your exhaust system is actually putting the exhaust behind the vehicle, not back into your passenger compartment. I don't think we're going to convince you, though.
There isnt any way for the diesel to inhale backwards like a gasser. 1260 cfm coming out the tail pipe of a turbo diesel, if you let off the pedal it might cut by a third or even half so youre still looking at 600+ cfm out the tail pipe, i dont see how it can inhale backwards but thats just me.
North American P51-D Mustang. V12 Supercharged 27 liter engine. 1,490hp at 3000 rpm, 1,720hp peak. What did it have for an elaborate exhaust to prevent valves warping? A whopping 6" straight pipe off the head out the side of the cowl.
Gas or diesel, turbo or not... I've run straight out the headers/downpipe and haven't ever damaged anything. Only engine I've ever had a warped valve on was the one with a completely stock and fully operational exhaust system - go figure!
Haha i was thinking the same thing a turbo wouldnt let anything flow backwards through it thats why i had to ask just to be sure my argument was justified lol
