This weekend I'm going to atemped to replace my stock mpg robing down pipe with the diamond eye one I bough a while ago. I know I have cut and mod the body but how much? Also will regular steel sawzal blade cut the old one out?
Thanks Cody, Normally It be me and my dad but he working on the Farm this coming weekend and I Have to be home for saturday night! So I figured it be a good weekend to work on it. I will have to look at our porta-power!
Each truck seems to be different as far as clearance goes. On mine I just used a crow bar and a piece of lumber to bend the seam after I cut it and it fit fine, had to adjust some things so it didn't rub on the transmission lines.
Hardest part was getting the old one out... a good sawzall and good blades are necessary. (Don't use a battery powered one, lol)
You'll want to put the new downpipe in from the top if you want to avoid "modifying" the firewall. Sawzall works just fine but takes a while. You're gonna love the stock "smoosh pipe" you pull outta there. I have no idea what the engineers were thinking when they designed it that way.

x2 on what Evan has said...I had new blades and Porta Power...pry bar and 2x4...it went pretty well....
It took a lot of patience and wiggling (and a small amount of beating with a 2x4) but I got it in without bending anything. Maybe my truck is just looser than yours (giggity)
