Welcome to FTE! The F1 4sp. would be a spur gear, unlike the F6 T98. T98's never came behind the F1 or F2, so the T98 doesn't come into play here at all. The 4sp. between the F1 and F2 are the same, just the back cover with the trans mount is different. It should say T8, or T8 D cast into the case. These trannies were available in everything from F1 up through F6. As you may know the bigger trucks have the drum park brake attached. I would assume if you just leave the drum off, and leave the "ears" for the drum exposed (cast into the trans mount), you could still use the driveshaft yoke. I haven't done this, so I can't say with certainty, sorry. If it's a T98 you have the mount from, it will not line up with the crossmember's original holes if installed on the T8 tranny. The speedo should hook up, as it sits between the case and the drum, and should be the same for all 4sp. trannies.
The rear housing from the F2 trans fits the F1 trans fine. The only issue is the speedo gear. the F2 gear must be a smaller one. Have to find one some where !
Thanks for your help
