I'm currently in route to Florida and I can now hear my serpentine belt squeaking. Is this an issue I need to get fixed ASAP or will I be ok for the trip there and back? I'm coming from Texas/LA border.
Might be the tensioner and not the belt...pretty tough to say sitting behind a keyboard. If it were me I'd get it checked out rather than risk being stranded on the side of the road.
Yea I questioned that in my head, but for a vacations sake, I tried not to think about it lol. Do you know what tensioners run and about what it will cost in labor? 2-3 hrs maybe?
When mine was changed a couple of months ago I paid around 180 bucks for the tensioner, and I think around 60 bucks for the belt. I can't say what the labor would be since I had some other stuff done at the same time, but I wouldn't think it would be much over an hour.
